Macadamia Fixing Gel

I did a twist out using Macadamia fixing gel. Hair was about 5 days post wash.
Normally to do a twist out, I'd have to dampen my hair before twisting. I'd wake up the next morning with 'too tight' curls and a cold from sleeping with a damp head.

I parted the hair to do flat twists (5 of them), applied the gel to the section as I'm beginning to do the twist and voila. No other product was used.

I love the results. My hair is soft and silky and shiny yet has a 'hold'. No more sleeping with a damp head to get this look.

My current staples/regimen

I start off by Pre-pooing overnight with Green Tea and Avocado Pre-poo treatment.

The next day I shampoo with Jojoba Hemp Conditioning shampoo (Tea-Tree deep cleansing shampoo every two weeks)

On the weekends, I use Green Tea and Hibiscus conditioner for about 30 minutes. ( My hair feels really strong yet soft afterward)

Then I follow up with Super soft honey conditioning rinse for about 10-15 minutes. ( this gives me softness and incredible body)

I spray with Moisture Mist leave in conditioner and apply about 2 drops of Jojoba Serum.

Air dry about 70% then I blow dry and flat iron. My hair usually is so soft and shiny I don't have to apply any other product for a few days.

When I do I use Jojoba Hair Milk (Available soon)

Pretty simple. I like all of my products but I can't use them all of the time lol..so I have to alternate. Right now I'm really loving my hair!

If I've been a little silent lately, it's because I'm busy creating and perfecting new products. I had anticipated that they would be ready by the end of January, but sometimes things don't go according to plans.

Hi Ladies,

We're still working on our new products. I know some of you are impatiently waiting :) but they'll be available soon.

Some of you who have ordered from us within the last week would have noticed that our Seyani Hair butter and Gillian Hair butter jars are different. Photos on the website will be updated with our new packaging pretty soon.

Also Banana Brulee Moisturizing Deep conditioner also has a new milder fragrance. We hope you like our changes.

I'm having fun working on our new products. I used our Hibiscus & Green tea conditioner (available in February) last weekend and my hair came out really great. I did a rollerset ( something I haven't done in a long time) and I am so in love with my hair right now.

We are currently processing and shipping all orders that were placed between Dec 16th and January 4th. Thank you for being patient.

We do have some changes in the new year.

Our bottles will no longer be blue due to changes with our suppliers. They are now amber.

We will be changing our website so if you visit us and we're not up and running, we're in the process of switching to the new one and will only be gone for 24 hrs at the most. We will have more features including customer accounts.

We will be adding new hair products including a hair milk and a creamy leave in and more economical conditioners.

Also, some products will have a new fragrance including most oils and some conditioners.

Bath and Body products won't be available until Valentines day.

Hi Friends,

Just a little note to let you know what's going on. We're working on getting all orders from our Thanksgiving and Black Friday sale out by Friday, Dec 5th. We're trying! We're trying! Thanks for being patient.

Our suppliers are handling heavy holiday demands so all our ingredients are shipping slower than usual. That's the holidays right? But I love this time of year.

For those of you who missed this sale, there will be another one before Christmas.

Also we will be closed from December 22nd (last shipping day) until Jan 5th 2009. We are taking a much needed vacation to spend the holidays with family and friends. I'm super excited to see them :) I know you understand.

We will be back on Jan 5th refreshed and gung ho to serve you!

P.S Right now my skin is soooooooooo soft and silky. I did a sugar scrub ( I'm addicted to those and do them almost every night) in Berries and Bulgarian Rose Baies, then followed it up with the "Lay it on me Body Lotion" (coming soon) in the same fragrance. I love it. It's a very subtle, elegant fragrance and I smell divine!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, it's estimated that About 178,480 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer in 2007. About 40,460 women will die from the disease this year. Right now there are slightly over 2 million women living in the United States who have been treated for breast cancer.

If you're worried about developing breast cancer, or if you know someone who has been diagnosed with the disease, one way to deal with your concerns is to get as much information as possible. In this section you'll find important background information about what breast cancer is and how it develops.

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that grows in one or both of the breasts. Breast cancer usually develops in the ducts or lobules, also known as the milk-producing areas of the breast.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women (after lung cancer). Although African-American women have a slightly lower incidence of breast cancer after age 40 than Caucasian women, they have a slightly higher incidence rate of breast cancer before age 40. However, African-American women are more likely to die from breast cancer at every age. Breast cancer is much less common in males; by comparison, the disease is about 100 times more common among women. The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2008 some 2,030 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among men in the United States.

So I'm totally psyched about the new line of body products coming out in the fall. I'm really working hard at creating products that will pamper your skin, make it soft and silky and drive your man wild with the scents.

I have to say I'm doing so much testing on my skin in the process of creating that my skin is so radiant and glowing. I really hope that my customers will loves these products as much as I do.

I will be introducing a body butter, a body lotion, hand cream, foot cream, salt and sugar scrubs and maybe even a shower gel. I'm really excited about this.

On another note, I'm still working on new conditioners. I love creating conditioners. I wish I can make the perfect conditioner for every woman in the world. Seriously. Through all my testing, my hair has become super strong and thick. Some of the conditioners I have made I want to offer to my customers but haven't simply because they provide little slip. And I know how us black people like our slip lol. But even though there is no slip these are the conditioners that provide the best moisture. I've learned that the less slip I have with a conditioner the more moisture it imparts in my hair. That's because the ingredients used to create slip usually coat the hair and can block moisture from getting in while conditioning.

Oh and I'm happy to say that Seyani hair butter now comes in new scents. It's something I've wanted to do right from the very beginning. I love the fact the my customers now have more choices.

Another thing, I'm always trying to improve on my products so from time to time, I may add more ingredients to them. Don't be alarmed if your new product comes with a new ingredient listed on the bottle or jar. Oh and I'm also thinking of changing the fragrances of some of the products. Stay tuned. I really hope that the changes made will please my customers.
